Cannot handle finals for ...

Error message Event xxx is not in session z Cannot handle finals for yyy where x & y are event numbers for the heats and the final and z is the session number. You may get other error messages after you accept the first one eg The Event Winner Ages are not available. 'Cannot handle finals for ...' error can occur when heats and their finals have not been correctly linked in the meet schedule, eg after a change/edit to the meet schedule.

The error can also occur if Meet Schedule Errors and Omissions are not corrected at the File Schedule stage of setting up a meet (see Help > Before Meet > Set Up Open Meet > File Schedule).

Before proceeding any further - please back up meet files by selecting Meet > Export > Meet Events Archive from the main menu and clicking OK.

To fix the problem, open the meet schedule (menu path Before Meet > Meet Schedule) and File Schedule with the Setup Entries Files checked. When asked if you want to overwrite any entry files answer NO or you will loose all your entries.
